CSR or Social Mission?

April 27, 2013

What’s the difference?  Is there a difference?  I think so.  Corporate Social Responsibility occurs when an corporation makes operational decisions that have a positive impact on the globe.  Examples might be promoting recycling in the workplace or selecting vendors who are local to a site.  An organization with a Social Mission designs many or all aspects of the entire organization in service to that mission.  If the organization is a for profit business, then it incorporates the Social Mission into how it goes about making money.
