The Joyful Coin™

120 Days to Your Right Livelihood Plus a Resume To Go

Right Livelihood is a concept in Buddhism that teaches us to be mindful, useful, and compassionate in work.  You can “find a way to earn your living without transgressing your ideals of love and compassion.  The way you support yourself can be an expression of your deepest self, or it can be a source of suffering for you and others.” (The Heart of the Buddha’s Teaching, by Thich Nhat Hanh, 1998, Broadway Books ed., p.113)  Become a Worknaut™ and explore your passions, strengths, and skills – leading you to a Right Livelihood.

Who is a Worknaut™?

Think of an astronaut – literally from roots meaning “star sailor” or explorer – and now you know who a Worknaut™ is!  You can become one, too.  Explore, decide, and go forward into your choices for earning income joyfully and in alignment with your values.  It’s been said before, “If you love what you do, you’ll never work another day in your life.”

So, what’s in it for you?

Here are some of the ways in which your life will be different after completion of the Joyful Coin™ program.

  • Increased clarity about your life purpose, personal values, and enthusiasms
  • Discovery of your ideal work and a vision for your own Right Livelihood
  • Knowledge and understanding about your strengths, preferred skills, and work style
  • A personal strategy with action steps to move you towards your ideal work
  • Greater confidence with your interviewing skills

Other elements of the Joyful Coin™ program

  • Twelve 30-minute career coaching sessions by phone delivered over the course of four months at convenient times for your schedule
  • Strengths Finder 2.0 book
  • Joyful Coin™ Right Livelihood checklist tool
  • DiSC workplace behavioral assessment
  • Two hours of resume consultation by phone, after conclusion of the coaching sessions
  • Your resume created by Mary and delivered in MS Word document format

What if you discover that you are a Worknaut™ who wants to be the owner, not an employee?

If your explorations lead to the conclusion that you want to start your own business, you probably won’t need or want a resume.  In that situation, you’ll receive an additional three 30-minute coaching sessions on developing your business plan.
